These days medics and governments of an amount of countries are extremely worried about the psyche of future generation. This anxiety issues from the situation that witnesses a huge number of suicide endeavors and nervous disorders amongst teenagers all over the world. The grounds for this might be several but the weightiest one is the feeling of loneliness and incomprehension. A lot of teenagers find resolution of such problem in becoming the adherents of varied youth subcultures like emo, goth, punk and so on.

Teachers and grown-ups frequently complain about the baneful influence of these subcultures on the psyche of a teenager. Medics, quite the opposite, affirm that the very subcultures help teenagers to outlive trials and challenges of everyday stressful conditions. Let's take emo culture as an example. Notwithstanding the existing social opinion that emo teenagers are aggressive, these girls and boys show much respect to everyone regardless of their race or religion. Only think how brave emo guys are to stand in opposition to the standards of society in the terms of outward look and emo clothes. The style in which emo boys and girls dress might rise controversial view points of average people: there's no distinction whether it is a boy or a girl, both wear close-fitting dark trousers and T-shirts with thorny pins and stripes, sportive shoes and a bag over shoulder. An emo clothes isn't the method to discern from other people but simply the way to express oneself. Another thing which might arouse anger of typical citizens is the way emo girls and boys look. Both emo boys and emo girls have piercing in their ears, navels and some other parts of body; both have a short haircut and color it black leaving a long lock that covers half of the face and is colored rosy; both make loud make up. Eyes are the mirror of the soul and emotions of emo people that is why they accentuate them with black crayon and black eye shadows. Psychologists state that such a peculiar style of looking and dressing facilitate teens express their nature freely.

To add, it's not only clothing and outward look that discern emo girls and boys from the rest mass of people but particularly their state of mind. Sensitivity and modesty distinguish emo girls from their peers. Those girls are as well genuine and rather emotive. Intense feelings of infatuation and susceptibility differ emo boys from other teenagers. Those feelings, thought, are very different items from what average citizens feel. Their feelings are rather pointed, for instance, they might be downcast in case they don't get response or commendation of people who are around. Teenage psychologists prove that typical teenagers (who do not belong to any group or youth subculture) in such conditions withdraw into themselves that can lead to frequent self-murder. Communication and sharing opinions with each other is the distinctive feature of emo girls and boys. So, is there any ground to prohibit your child to mix up or to become a part of any youth subculture? As the end issue it's necessary to mention that grown-ups and teachers shouldn't prohibit their offspring to join any youth subculture or youth formation and allow them express their thought freely.
